We’re looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our TIO Marketplace Studio team based in EHQ in Hilversum. You will report into the Senior Engineering Manager and work within our engineering squads to develop and deliver high quality software solutions that solve specific business problems and grow Nike’s digital businesses. The ideal candidate should be highly self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced agile delivery environment. You will need to demonstrate your prior experience, knowledge of industry trends, and personal creativity to develop new and innovative solutions which delight our customers!

You will be working on exploring, validating and developing new concepts and initiatives to serve our athletes and make their lives easier. With teammates in Portland, Netherlands and Poland, you’ll be joining a global organization to conceptualize, define, and deliver technology innovation solutions for use within Nike, as part of existing Nike products, and for new lines of business. We run agile squads where transparency and trust are key, and collectively bring a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement to the organization. You will be coaching and mentoring junior team members and implementing strategies to excel integration and efficiency. You will ensure your squad follows the established standards and guidelines. Quality is built into our solutions up front, with a testing and quality mentality being a key attribute of our team. You will be asked to provide support by writing documentation and tutorials as well as providing guidance to users with a variety of technical skills.

You will be part of an agile scrum team, closely working with the Product Owner and other team members that drive to deliver innovative solutions. Advising product and business owners on specific technology-related aspects required to deliver solutions accurately. Key partnership with Principal Engineer, Solution Architect, Engineering Leadership and platform teams to identify the best solutions and ensure optimal implementation and delivery. Through our communities of practice, you will interact with Engineers from multiple squads to help define Nike’s engineering culture, standards and best practices. You will be reporting into engineering leadership, who will guide you to grow and build your career path.

• Demonstrable expertise in Computer Science, Engineering or other relevant field
• 6+years of validated experience in building software engineering solutions
• Experience translating big problem spaces and early concepts into clear requirements
• Ability to explain deep technical concepts to a wide audience from engineers to senior executives
• Experience prioritizing product backlogs and providing clear effort estimations and planning
• Ability to solve complex software engineering problems
• Demonstrated experience of developing prototypes to scaled solutions shipped to end consumers
• Solid knowledge of Cloud Computing, Containerization, CI/CD and DevOps practices
• Ability to lead by example and collaborate with various partners, technical or business-wise
• Broad experience across various tech-stacks with experience in some of the following:
• ReactJS, ES6, Webpack, SASS
• NodeJS or Java SpringBoot or GoLang
• AWS, S3, DynamoDB, EC2, Lambda, ELB
• Docker or Podman
• Kubernetes or EKS or ECS
• Terraform or AWS CloudFormation or AWS CDK
• Bash Scripting
